My Projects
These are some of the current and completed projects I've worked on
BigBrother
WWU CS Department Surveilance System
Status: Completed
Website: Internal System
BigBrother is a surveilance management system I developed for WWU's CS Department to enable the administrators to monitor, record and maintain video feeds from the CS department.
This project is complete and is currently in a production environment.
Bride's Outlet CIM
Customer Information and Promotion Management System
Status: Completed
Website: Internal System
This management system was developed for Bride's Outlet to allow the mangers and owners to manipulate customer and promotion data via a web-based interface. The system was later modified to allow management to enable promotions on their webpage and to handle data collected by these promotions
This project is completed and was in use as of my last contact with the client.
Ground Contact Website
Simple Scripted Website
Status: Completed
Website: http://www.groundcontact.com
This was just a simple website I developed for my current job at the time to give them a web presence. The scripting was basic feedback and image gallery functions, nothing overly complex. I no longer maintain this site.
This project is completed.
Boat Beagle
Remote Boat Environment Monitoring
Status: Terminated
Website: http://www.boatbeagle.com
Boat Beagle was a remote monitoring system dedicated to allowing boat owners to remotely monitor the environment on their vessels via a web-based interface. I developed the server-side software to communicate with the harbor radio systems and control the boat radios and sensor suites. I also developed web-based management interfaces for both server administration and owner administration.
This project was terminated after prolonged difficulty with the client. The project was approximately 60% complete at time of termination.
Photo and Sound Saving's E-Commerce Website
E-Commerce Website
Status: Terminated
Website: http://www.photoandsoundsaving.com
I developed a unique interface for PSS to enable their customers to order services online. This involved integrating PSS's product matrix into the site as well as dynamic pricing models and a complete shopping cart/checkout system. This project is too large to describe in detail here, please contact me if you are interested in learning more about what I did.
This project was terminated due to non-payment issues. The project was 90% complete at time of termination.
MatchMaker
Roommate Matching System
Status: Replaced
Website: None
MatchMaker was a dynamic matching system I developed for WWU's Housing department. The objective of this system was to allow on-campus students to answer a group of questions and then have the system match them with other students based on personality, music preference, study habits and more. The idea was to create a system which functioned much like your average dating site.
This project was eventually replaced with a simpler 10 question system. The system was deemed to be too complex by department heads.
Radio Free Bellingam
Distributed Wireless Grid
Status: In Planning Phase
Website: None
After seeing the disaster in New Orleans and the subsequent creation of a wireless grid by local geeks I decided to plan out a similar concept for Bellingham. My concept allows for a distributed wireless grid which allows people to share their internet bandwidth throughout the city. The system would be free and would be run by local geeks but the software needed would be simple enough your average user could set it up and add their wireless access point into the grid.
I'm still researching this project and talking with others on good methods of implementing it.
